The teleconference titled "Being Disabled in Challenging Times" was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurullah Bolat, Head of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at ÇOMÜ Faculty of Medicine and Coordinator of the ÇOMÜ Student Disability Unit. During the event, our Center Director, Asst. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Nilüfer Umar, delivered a presentation titled "Being a Student with Disabilities at University During the Covid-19 Process."
Other distinguished guests of the teleconference included Lokman Ayva, Turkey's first visually impaired Member of Parliament and Founding/Honorary President of the Beyazay Association, who spoke on "Difficult Conditions Also Offer Opportunities for the Disabled," and Erdem Öksüz, President and Art Director of the Yön Art Association, who discussed "Art and Its Healing Power for the Disabled." Through their insights, the speakers shared the message of living hand-in-hand with individuals with disabilities during these challenging times.
