INDİVİDUALS WİTH SPECİAL NEEDS AND TEACHER CANDİDATES KEPT THE MARCH 18 SPİRİT ALİVE WİTH FLAGS

In a community service project carried out in cooperation with the Çanakkale Unique Individuals Autism Association and ÇOMÜ Faculty of Education Special Education Department 4th-grade students, individuals with autism and teacher candidates kept the meaning of the March 18 Çanakkale Naval Victory alive through flag-themed activities.

A heartwarming and meaningful event was held in Canakkale on the anniversary of the March 18 Canakkale Naval Victory. Individuals with autism and teacher candidates came together in a community service project organized in cooperation with the Canakkale Unique Individuals Autism Association and the 4th-grade students of the COMU Faculty of Education, Department of Special Education.

During the event, individuals with autism and teacher candidates worked together on flag-themed activities. The crescent and star flags prepared with paints symbolized both the spirit of Canakkale and the love for the homeland. The flags prepared by small hands provided emotional moments for everyone participating in the event.

For the special education teachers of the future, this work was not just a course application, but also an opportunity to establish a strong bond with individuals with special needs and to get to know their world more closely. The teacher candidates expressed that every moment spent with these individuals is very precious to them.

Authorities from the Canakkale Unique Individuals Autism Association stated that such activities carried out with university students both support the participation of individuals with special needs in social life and create awareness in society.

In the event where the meaning and importance of March 18 were kept alive together with individuals with special needs, the flags prepared once again demonstrated that the spirit of Canakkale lives on today through love, solidarity, and togetherness.
